LS1 in a Samurai, cam for mid to low end Qs

x2, I would put a good sized cam in it. A 5.7 in a 3200lb truck can have a pretty big cam before it becomes a dog down low. Then having 5.38s and 36" tires will help too.

I think I am going to run it stock right now and then after it is running I can work on getting the cam sorted out and heads possibly if I need them. That way I will know what the motor will act like behind a TH400 with 5.38s and in low range. I will know more about it instead of guessing what I will need right now. The truck won't have a front end on it so swapping the cam should be a cake walk

Well, tonight I finally picked up the heads and cam for the LS1. I got some TEA stage 1.5s 5.3 heads and the Comp hi lift 212/218 cam. Tomorrow I will take some pictures and start a thread in the project vehicle section
