LS1 intake over stock 4.8 intake?
#5
Don't go there, I put one on mine about a year ago and it just killed the bottom end, And i couldn't tell it made it run better all through the RPM, It seemd like the motor was bogging, maybe needed to tune engine for that intake...? I was thinking it had to do w/ compression, Gear & weight, I ended up putting the stock one back on and the truck ran tons better.....FYI...

Its not worth the trouble and cost IMHO, your gonna have to get all F body accessories to run an intake that cost more and doesn't perform enough better to pay for its self. The Truck intake is fine till you start to get into 230 or above cam duration.

I stand corrected, but it is still more work then its worth unless your going with a big duration change.
Especially if it's just to be able to run Vette Coil covers!

your throttle body is a 78mm. the ls1 intake flows wrose than the truck intake. any car style intake has much worse torque numbers than a truck intake.
if you do go with a car style intake go LS6. the ls2 has a 90mm throttle body inlet but it also flows worse than the ls6 even though the ls6 only has a 78mm inlet. or for an aftermarket go FAST.
for looks go with either the Edelbrock Pro-FlowXT intake or get some 6.0 covers
