Im doing a ls swap in 99 gmc 4x4 truck i got some questions if anybody could help me

A 99 should already have an LS in it.

I heard some still had 5.7s? or maybe those where the 98s..

SUV's and I think the 2500's and up were the year later for the LS engines

You're both wrong and right. In 1999, both GMT400 and GMT800 Silverados were manufactured. In 2000, both GMT400 and GMT800 SUVs and 2500s/3500s were manufactured. In 2001, both GMT400 and GMT800 3500s were manufactured.
