You should be able to machine it...best way to find out is to take the block to a machine shop and see what they can do for you. As for heads, I have a set of WCCH StageII 317's waiting for me to install them on my LQ9

*EDIT* the WCCH StageII's have 232cc intake runners IIRC

IMHO, L92's are pretty inexpensive & don't need to much done them to make them really shine (good valve job should do). Make sure to get a custom cam matched to your heads & your 408 will rock. Richard at WCCH or Ed Curtis at Flowtech Induction will get you pointed in the right direction. Good luck.
