LQ4 for LS1? Anyone want to trade?

Top Secrret,
I know that you don't mean any disrespect. I don't mean to put a damper on your spirits either. I'm just indirectly doing some parenting/mentoring from a distance by holding up a caution sign. You might do the same with someone else a few years from now.
All my best,
Steve
Edit:
BTW, I saw your 240Z you posted on the other thread you started. Nice car! It brought back good memories.

TS,
Yes, I owned a 240Z from 1972 until 1986 https://ls1tech.com/forums/showpost....17&postcount=9.
I'm currently building a 408 Stroker for my truck. I've also helped friends back in the day do conversions:
1. Installing a SBC 283 in a Henry J.
2. Installing a Volvo Engine and Transmission in a MG TD.
3. Rebuilding a 401 Buick Engine, adding a marine conversion package and installing it in an antique Chris Craft boat.
4. Re-engined a number of tractors (as in semi-sized tractor-trailers) with improved power trains.
Steve
PS
Regardless of the outcome of your project, you'll learn a lot and I sincerely wish you well.

Ah, to answer your question when comparing the weight of the stock 2.4 vs a T-56 and LQ4, I have some interesting information:
People on www.hybridz.org have found that after swapping out the stock 2.4 and 4 speed to an LS1/T-56 that they, on average, LOST about a hundred pounds from the car! (I was shocked, and still am)
Seeing that an LQ4 is somewhere in the ball park of 80 pounds heavier than an LS1, and that I will be using a aluminum square intake (No doubt another twenty pounds), my final weight will be within ten to twenty pounds of the original engine and transmission. Less or more, I am not yet sure. But it will certainly be interesting to find out. =)
