Default LQ4 cam tr220 or tr224? other?

We just put a 03 LQ4 in my buddys 2000 reg cab step side, and now I'm searching for the best cam for it.

I was thinking TR224 or TR220, or comp 216/220, leaning towards TR220 on 112.

I have a comp 212/218 in my LQ4, buts its a little small, but tons of torque down low. So I'm thinking bigger, but don't want to lose too much below 2000rpm. His truck is a lot lighter so torque loss may not be as noticeable.

-This truck is used to tow
-It will also have to pass emissions test
-Don't want to lose too much fuel mileage

Mods are
-stock LQ4 6.0L
-trailblazer TC 2600rpm
- 02 PCM - hptuners tuning
- Magnaflow exhaust

BTW we did some Gtech runs

5.3L all stock + tuning + exhaust 15.3 at 89mph no wheel spin

stock 6.0L + TB stall + exhaust = 14.4 at 98mph, spinning half way through 1st gear, with half asses tune

I've had Comp's 216/220 (114lsa), and just swapped to Comp's 224/224 w/ higher lift (.568/.568). I was looking for a good low-end torque cam with the 3K stall TC I have. Since you have a TB 2600-stall TC, the 224 will work as well as all your choices. The TR224's range is 1700-6600 RPM (check their website).

Now what about a TSP 220 or TSP 224.

TSP 220R 1200-6200 rpm

TSP 224R 1400-6300 rpm

I know with stock heads the extra lift (.581" vs .563") won't be much of a benefit, but these cams should have less duration seat to seat.

More low end torque? Too hard on valve springs?
