You said with tsp 5.3 heads, by that do you mean texas speed? What “stage are they?

It's fine by me or the gauge reads slightly high but all are still even. You milled the heads so the compression is going to be a little high than say a stock engine that may see 165-180 per cylinder.

I don't have any suggestions without seeing data logs and the tune itself, not likely something your tuner will post here.

Yes you are right, he does not want to share it. Thank you for the response on compression.

Things are going great here this morning, we are up to 245 HP, thats a gain of 15 just by adding timing.. were are gradually adding timing till we start moving backwards and it is adding HP by 3 or 4 per pass

Not sharing is fine but it's not like any of us tuners are magic makers. Tuning is simple once you understand what is going on. It's not like anything he is doing is next level super secret squirrel stuff.

All I can suggest is running around a 12.3-12.5 commanded AFR under WOT and try to aim for mid 20's for timing to get good horsepower and torque numbers.

We had put 29.5 degrees of timing in and 13.1 command afr to get our best number

That's way too lean if you ask me, I bet it makes more peak torque at a lower AFR.

I am still not 100% satisfied, but the tuner has gave up. He blames it on the cam, he says it is a bad grind for this truck(226/234 .525 lift 109 lsa). We called it good at 245 HP @5500 rpm and 258 Torque @4700 rpm. The tuner has said that he will gladly give out his phone number and talk out what he did in the tune if any off you guys would be willing. What do you think? I will pm you his numbers if you guys want to. I know that is asking alot from some random stranger but hey I thought i would ask any ways. Thank you

2nd gear pulls. Does what your saying mean that it will be higher HP in 3rd pulls? He couldn’t do 3rd gear pulls because 2nd gear was all ready 80 mph and i am running with a stock driveshaft
