Default Looking for some heads

Well I need a set of heads, complete. Now I would like to try a get them from in or around the Fort Worth/Dallas Tx. area, I am trying to get stock heads for a 90 model 454 ss pickup and so far I know that I can not use anything newer, older yes but not sure how far back as far as year model, any help would be good thanks.

Sorry I'm not near the DFW area, but this may be of some use to your search.
You'll be fine to use all "Peanut" port heads. They made them from the early eighties on till the early ninetys. They can readily be identified by the near round intake runner openings. Depending on what your doing with the engine, you could install the slightly larger "oval" port heads for a nice performance increase. Oval port heads made in the late sixties will have smaller chambers and will increase the compression ratio. This should be a plus for performance, unless tuning is an issue or your hauling a lot of weight.

Good luck,

Richard
