ok thanks guys back to the 1900 for the cam install i know i could save money by doing it myself but i dont got the time the space or do i know how the hell to do it. is paying 1900 to a shop to do it way to much? what should i pay so i could have an idea on what to offer him and see what he says. hes very recommended around here lots of sick trucks and suv's rolling around with his company name and # on the back and im just like WTF.

$1900!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF? Is that including a reach around? ooooh mybad, that seems like too much to me even including cam, springs and rods. I think $400-$600 is normal shop rate.....it has been a while.

You'd probably be able to find everything for about $500 give or take. Labor will be upwards of $400 considering a 4 hour job at $100/hour. It's kind of expensive around here.

Ask if hes charging for cylinder head pull? Also, ask for the cam, spring only install without the tune.
