Looking at getting a cam/stall
Im looking to get a cam/stall for my truck its a 2005 5.3l with Blackbear tune, CAI, Bassani exhaust.... I want something good for daily driving but also will give me a good bit of power. I dont mind losing a few mpg aslong as its not a huge decrease... I will look into headers and gears after the cam and some caltracs because the truck is 6/8 and doesnt get much traction as it is now... I just have no idea when it comes to anything more than bolt-ons.
Thanks, Colyn.

See I have no clue what that even means bro... I know nothing about performance except my truck is alot quicker and has a ton more responce and power since my blackbear tune.. The other mod I forgot to list is a transgo vette servo. I sell susp parts so thats my speciality not performance. So school me guys.
Thanks, Colyn.

A looser stall torque converter allows the engine to flash higher than stock. They can range from 2k rpm to 4000+rpm. You will need to match your cam and converter for the best match. Check out Yank and Circle-D. They are both sponsors of the site. They have links to the right of the screen.

A Vinci Ultra-Torque or Trucker cam would be good choices as well and would compliment your future blower for when you seriously get the bug. For a DD I would stay below a 3000 rpm stall torque converter. I even find my 2600 to be a pain sometimes but it's still very driveable, and even OK for towing.
