Default lm7 build LSx parts?

newbie looking to build my lm7 up a bit. truck is a DD street truck but would like to have fun at the 1/8mile track on the weekends. was hoping someone could help recommend parts to use from diffrent LSx motors, to save a few bux.. id like to get build around 5-600 hp. I plan to run at most a 200shot on it.

now i have access to a 06 6.l truck motor (lq4? lq9? ) its got a hole popped in the pan and locked up.. anything i could use off of it?

should i run my stock heads and jsut port/polish them?
was thinking a 212/216 cam ?
high volume oil pump
anything and if so what else?
any help is appreciated.

I would think that motor wouldnt last that long with 200 shot as a daily.. so atleast try get some forged pistons....

You will need to spend some serious bucks to make 500hp and do it reliably. Throwing a ton of nitrous at it is a short-sighted way of doing things. You'll need a decent intake and a good exhaust, a good tune and even then will be playing with fire unless you forge some internal parts like pistons.

The best advise I ever got as a newbie is this.

(Fast, Reliable, Cheap). You are only allowed to pick two. So if you want some thing fast and cheap, it isn't going to be reliable and so forth.

If you really want to run a 200 shot, you will need a forged bottom end if you want it to last forever. The stock 317 heads are great when ported for FI applications. That cam you suggested would be great for daily driving manners and low end torque. A lot of guys run comps 212/218 cam. New oil pump is a must if you are in there changing the cam. GL with your build
