read that for info on the bolt on performance stuff.

i read where allen nelson( experienced dynotuner) did long tube headers, offroad y-pipe, cat back exhaust, 220 cam, and a full dyno tune and got 100-120rwhp gain on a 5.3L truck.

there are so many different cams for different applications. you would get a different cam for naturally aspirated or nitrous injected or procharged or turbo'd or twin screw SC's. everything comes into play with cams

that sounds about right andrew, I'll have numbers monday to show the hotcam's difference which hopefully will be good lol.

a good idea might be to call up your local tuner and see what they offer and what kind of pricing

Nice link! Take a look at post #8, all of those mods are a waste of money. If you are serious about a supercharged application, do some research. Every system has pros and cons. The Procharger is a centrifugal supercharger, so it makes peak boost at the shift point. To over come this you would want to get a higher stalled torque converter. You say you want 400 rwhp, now figure out what type of truck you want to drive. You can have a wild set up or a tame one and still have 400 rwhp.

I am personally shooting for the same goal, but N/A. I am running h/c and will have full bolt ons before it is over. I have an aggresive cam and am going to need a 3600 stall to support it. This is usuall a little to much for the average Joe that wants to drive thier truck everyday. Fortunately I have a beater. It is all up to you and what YOU want. Tell us that and we can better direct you, then you decide. Also do a search, and look up mods that interest you. See what others have experienced.

yea i would like to reach that 400 goal n/a then supercharge it i would like to have a tame truck more or less a sleeper ill do some research but am open to any suggestions

Well, that probably work work out so well. No one has hit 400 rwhp in a 5.3 N/A that I am aware of. Do one or the other. You will end up spending more money trying to hit 400 then SC it. The mods you have to do will not be complimentary to each other. You would not want my cam in a SC application. The 112 LSA would bleed off half the boost that the SC would put into the motor. Decide, then build!

Right now I have heads/cam, K&N intake, longtubes, full exhaust with x pipe and cutouts, 4:10 gears, e-fans, tune, and an Eaton Posi. I have no idea how much I am making because I haven't had the time to dyno it. I would like to guess 350-360 rwhp. I still need 3600 stall, FLT transmission, and underdrive pulleys. I have some other things I can do as well, but this is what I will do first.

Personally, start with the basic bolt ons. Headers, cold air intake, e-fans and things of this nature. TUNE, that will always make a big difference.

yea i was planning on putting pacesetter lts longtube and i have e-fans already the tune guy closest to me just moved so i need to find a new one and need to order a cai as well what about headwork?... can get it done in the next town is it worth it
