Why not throw the D1 on the 5.3 and have some fun with it?

Youre gonna want headers and a lot of the basic mods that will fit no matter what engine you put in there. If it were me I would do all the mods surroundign the engine and toss that D1 on the 5.3 until it pops. No sense in tossing a perfectly good engine to the side when it will have the guts to make that shorty roll out.

Toss a Z06 cam and springs at it with 15# of boost and see what happens. Keep it really cheap... If nothing else it will let you know how much the built 6 liter is worth.
