Iron LS2 Help
#1
I'm just wondering if I have all my fact's straight.
I want to put an iron ls2 together, this includes:
1. LQ4/LQ9
2. LS6 Cam
3. 243/799 Heads
4. LS6 Springs?
5. LS? Oil Pump?
Missing anything, or completely wrong?
I realize I'm
, sorry in advance.

Would the LS6 cam and springs be beneficial though?
Also, I'm a bit iffy on fuel quality here, would the lq4 be the better idea here to keep the compression down a tad?
But it wouldn't really be a true iron LS2 if it didn't have the 11.0:1 compression would it?

It's going in an RCSB
Goals are 350 horse.. Maybe a bit more. Would be hitting it with 150 shot.
Potentially swapping it into my ECSB on occasion.
Just want a strong, durable engine.
I'm pretty set on this combo, just looking for a parts list really.

So you are asking for opinions and asking if your list looks right but then following it up by saying you are set on this combo.. So... Why ask if you already made up your mind. A LS2 has a alum block period, if you plan to do a LQ9 with 243's then you have a LQ9.

I built a LQ9 with 243 heads for someone with a 4x4 crew cab. In the cooler months its ok, but in the summer the heat soak and KR are obnoxious even with 93 octane, going to be switching out the heads to lower the CR.
Since your planning on putting this in a RCSB you may be ok.
