Intake manifolds

Intake manifolds
I have a LQ9 6.0. What is the difference in my engine and the LS2. Can I make my motor equal to or greater than the LS2 with a z06 intake or LS2 intake. And how about heads. Will a set of LS2 or Z06 heads raise my compression too high.

you can make it better.... basically if you do the same internals as an ls1 along with the intake... you have the same engine but just weighs more.... just get some work done to the 317 heads....

A LS2 has heads similar to your 317 heads with smaller chambers yielding 10.9:1 compression,a cam very similar to a early Z06,different knock sensors,an aluminum block and a different intake with a 90mm throttle body. You can easily make as much power as a LS2 with a few mods.

I already have a 80mm TB, CAIT, LT headers, twin 18" magnaflows, Comp Cam 224/228 .581 cam with all the other necessary valve train parts, nelson tune. I just figured with a good set of heads and intake I could get more than a LS1 or LS2 because of the bigger displacement. What do you think?
How about some of these sheet metal intakes? What do you think about those?

Sheet metal intakes, generally, are not intended for street use... and I certainly wouldn't recommend one unless you were willing to spend serious coin for a motor to go underneath it and capitalize on what sheet metal intakes were built for...

Super high flow capabilities... allowing great power past "normal" redline RPM's... generally at the expense of power down low in the RPM range. For street use the key is to raise and extend your power level throughout the RPM range you intend to operate in.
