Intake Manifold Help!
This is gonna sound funny but:
I cant get these damn piston peices out of my intake. When my engine blew, it sent numerous peices of piston into the intake. Ive tried a water hose and compressed air and i still have some that are bouncing around in there when i shake it. (it sounds redneck as hell, I know ) I really want to be able to salvage this intake. Its spotless. I have spent countless hours with degreaser and scotchbrite pads scrubbing and washing this thing out. Does anyone have a cut away view of our truck intakes? Im thinking its sitting in a pocket and is trapped. If i can figure this out, then i may be able to get it out with one of my previous methods. Its towards the back and no amount of shaking of the intake will get this little piece out. Too bad its nonferrous because a magnet would have worked marvelously.
HELP!

Those truck intakes are cheap and easy to find. Just get another one. But one option would be to drill in the area you think it is and tap the hole for a pipe plug once you've retrieved it. But that would require a tap for a 1/2-3/4 pipe thread and the correct bit which would both cost you more than another used intake IMO. Unless you can borrow them.

Throw that intake away and don't look back! It will always remain a problem. This is similar to an oil cooler that's had bearing material passed through it. No amount of cleaning will remove all the debris trapped in the many corners. Find you a good used one and continue on.
