I think I might be running into a problem

Sorry I wasn't around when you posted this up. You need a flat style Flex plate like the 6.0 I have seen aftermarket SFI ones that are flat for the LS series engines. Several companies make them you just need to make sure it fits the 4L80E bolt pattern.
