Default Howards GEN III 226/236 .525/.525 110lsa in a 5.3L

I have been looking into getting this Howards Cam for my 5.3l, wanted to see if anyone else is running it, and how it worked out for ya. I'm looking for max power i can get from a cam with out head work. Thanks

You're going to need a converter with that cam.

I have the RPMSpeed version of that cam. Same duration and LSA but more lift at .600.

Well then, you're set.

I would highly suggest looking at the RPMSpeed version. I have it and love it.

Hmmm, now you got me rethinking my cam choice. Looking for the most power I can get out of it with cam and no head work. Just wondering what the power differences would be between the 2.

that thing should rip with a vic jr single plane style intake. not as sure about how it would perform with a truck intake. I usually lean more towards 112-114LSA cams in dual plane style intakes. what do you plan to do with the truck? It's a pretty meaty cam for a 5.3.

I see you're pretty new to the forum. Instead of trying to re-invent the wheel, look into a TR220 cam in a 5.3. it has a reputation of being a proven performer in a 5.3 with stock heads.

I'm want to push that 5.3l as much as I can but, keep some reliability. I think it should do well with that TBSS intake but eventually gonna upgrade to the holly midram

I see a lot of people use that cam and have seen good reviews about it. Was just curious to see what else is out there.

Default bit much...

Thats alot of duration... less lift than factory Lm7 truck heads even like from what I have read... but I like narrow LSA stuff.
