Default how should i build my lq4?

i have a 4.8 06 chev single cab. i am in dfw and will get junkyard lq4. money is a concern so trying to decide if i should buy rotating assembly and have a shop build 408 short block with new cam, stock heads, stock intake. or use stock short block and spend money on heads and intake. what do yall think? if i could afford both i would. hoping for 500 crank hp but would like strong tq #. will be a daily drvr. def not track only.

If money is an issue I'd do a stock bottom end and put the money in a cam and heads. A short block build can get pricey in a hurry. what is your overall budget? I will tell you I had a budget set for building my 408 and Im almost double into what I had first budgeted. there is a ton of little supporting mods you don't think about that all add up.

Stock shortblock, ported 799/243 heads, descent intake, cam and headers should get you there. Oh, and you will probably run out of injector.
