Default How long are your pushrods?

I have a 2001 5.3l motor and I was measuring my pushrods today to see if I needed longer ones and my pushrods measure at 7 5/16. which if my math is correct should be a 7.3125? does this seem short for a factory pushrod? I was under the impression that the factory ones were 7.38ish.

Remember some measurements are in accurate as they are measured to the projected ball ends of the pushrods.

I have a 7.400" on my 370 with milled heads, cam and ls7 lifters. ~.090 preload.

Mine were measured from tip to tip. And they seem crazy short to me. I have installed an 04 z06 cam and milled my 862 heads .025. My thoght was to mill the heads to match up with the shorter base circle cam. I have horrible noise and I just took the pushrods out to see if theu were bent and they measured what seemed short to me.
Also I have what looks like rocker imprints on the bottom of the valve cover. That would make me think my pushrods are too long? And chatter would make me think too short? I have a checker in the mail. This one has me stumped.

it has more to do with my heads and lifters than the motor. TFS 225 heads which puts the valvetrain at a different angle combined with my earlier model LS2 lifters with a .050 deeper cup.

That's wierd. I've never heard of that. What are the advantages of the earlier ls2 lifters? Just a deeper cup?
