Default How long before I can go to the track with new heads and cam

Roughly how many miles should I put on my truck before I head to the track with my new heads and cam? What else should I do besides another oil change?
Thanks,
Mike

well its not a truck but my dirt track car gets 20 mins of idle time at 2500 prm and then once it hits the track is sees a constant 5800-7600 rpm around the track
