hi i got 02 with 5.3L and 5sp behind it current dyno at 310 and 312tq i was thinking installing 224/224 on it and ls6 intake how much gain would i get
or i need port my head for a better gain??i got 2k to spend i dont want turbo or supercharge

 

What kind of bolt ons do you have? Forget about the LS6 intake for now and the 224 cam may be a bit too big for the 5.3. Bang for your buck:

Pacesetters w/ off road y-pipe ~$500
Cam/springs/push rods ~$600
Tune ~$400

with either:

Electric fans ~$200
Under drive pulley ~$200

Or

Used ported heads $500+

 

do you have a motor swap or trans swap because the 5.3L NEVER came with the 5speed

 

that and i find it hard to believe that a bone stock 5.3 put those kind of numbers down to the wheels.

 

please post up what mods you have

 

if you have a 5 speed i'd go ahead and get a t56 or a FLT tranny...because aren't those things prone to being....****?
