i've got a 6.0 shortblock im going to put into my rcsb and it is head-less right now. i won't be anything to special my 221 cam and a stall etc.
my question is what heads and head gaskets should i go with?
I thought i could just use the heads off my 5.3 with 6.0 head gaskets, does this sound allright? compression?
Another question i know the 4.8 and 5.3 heads have 1.89" intake valves correct, well i have some 2.00" valves i can put in there, is this worth it? will i have to modify the head any?
thanks guys

You have several choices for cylinder heads. It's possible to install the 2.0" intake valves into your 5.3l heads and if done properly would make an affordable setup that will yield high compression. By my estimate your compression ratio should end up near 10.75:1 depending on head gasket choice. That's a bit high when used with a 220º+ duration cam. It will drive the cylinder pressure over 180psi and that usually leads to a pinging condition. Shoot for 10.0:1 cr if possible. A 66cc chamber volume will get you there.
Incidently, we have a CNC program to make the 5.3l chambers 65-66cc. We can also install the 2.0" intake valves as well. Feel free to call us at the shop anytime if you'd like to chat about your setup.
Good luck,
Richard
