if your thinkin about putting a cam and heads on....who makes the best heads/best bang for ur buck rather than spending money to have a set set done.by time you get donne buying valves,springs,the port work and the machining somebody has to make a good set of bolt on heads for a 5.3 liter

 

I'd say General Motors makes some decent heads... P&P 243s alone are good bolt ons for a 5.3. What is your final goal though? That'll determine what you might want to start with.

 

im thinking bout a set of prc 2.5 5.3 heads later this yr. heard nothing but good things about them as a great bang/buck head

 

I'd throw out the PRC Stage 2.5 5.3L heads for a great bang for the buck as well! They aren't going to make the same power the more expensive aftermarket casting heads will, but for their price, they give alot of great power! We've got some tax time specials coming up very soon too

 

any opinions on some heads that might cost a little more that will perform better without spending an extra thousand over the prc's?
