Default head scratch question

Intake port on one cylinder on the head has a scratch horizontally. Looks like someone needed the help of a screwdriver to get the intake off or something.
Scratch across gasket area. I'll try and get a pic later. Can the intake surface be "decked" or finished to get rid of the scratch? It probably would not need much.
thanks

How bad is it?

I used some red scotch bright pads to clean the head/block side and it worked really good.

Yeah, just hit with a scotch brite pad or some emery cloth. Or a yellow/green fingered roloc wiz wheel disc to clean it up.

If it's REALLY bad - like, so deep that you think a gasket might not seal it - then take some sandpaper, wrap it around something stiff enough to hold its shape but flexible enough to conform to a shape, like maybe a paint stir stick, and sand off any high edges; then fill it with JB Weld and sand flat.

Can't tell whether it gets into the actual sealing area or not; probably not, but ...

All ya gotta do is, make it flat.

Sand, epoxy, sand again, done. You could maybe even just razor-blade off the high ridges, use a body filler plastic wiper thing to schmear in the epoxy.

Not to be mean, but, you've already spent more time posting on the Internet, than it would take to fix it. Quit posting already and just fix it.
