Default Guess Will Handzel owes me a new oil pump

Gotta wonder how many other "mistakes" are in the How to build High Performance LS1/LS6 book. On page 94 picture24 says the oil pump front plate bolts are 8mm and are torqued to 18ftlbs. Well they are 6mm and I discovered that they won't take 18 lbs, one of them snaped off in the pump body and won't come out! Page 93 correctly calls them 6mm bolts WTF!!!!
I carefully ported this thing too and now it's junk. I'm pissed.

Your not the only one to have a problem with that torque spec....I ported my stock pump, only to stip out a bolt when torqueing it to 18ftlbs...I was pissed, but what can you do besides buy a new one...

hell, i've even seen torque spec typos in GM's own ESI Techline service software. common sense should have told ya that little bastard wasn't gonna take 18 ftlbs.

The GM service information shows 106 lb in. Sounds like you needed a better source for info.
