My Z06 cam sounds stock, but I did loose a bit down low and a 4.8 ain't got much down there anyway 
. It will pull MUCH harder on the top end though. I would do it, especially if you have a 5 speed.

on a 5.3 with factory exhaust manifolds it sounded stock to me, but boy did that thing pull at the top of the track, I was in the other/losing lane
