Default Got my Jones Cam Design Cam Today!(pics)

Like the title says, I got it in the mail today. One of the last pieces to getting my motor back up and running. Mike Jones of Jones Cam Design was a nice guy and seemed very knowledgeable, guess we will see once I get the truck up and running. Cam has some lint on it since I havent cleaned it for install yet.

I think it should run good and will still have a nice sound to it. Im not too worried about driveability too much since its not a DD.

You didnt think I was going to pull an Ed Curtis cam owner thread did you?

Thats what I kept thinkin when I talked to him

Its a decent sized cam

My last was a 237/242 .595 .595 112lsa, it was a bit too small for my tastes, especially since I dont have to drive it everyday anymore

Very aggressive ramp rate. I bet it idles about the same as your old cam. Your 237/242 had some slow *** lobes if I remember correctly.

I dont care if this one has more "lope" then the previous I just need less low end power thats why this one is a bit different. Here are the old specs and a pic of the Lunati cam

Hope the LS7 lifters hold up to it for the next six months till this summer when I go to a solid roller setup.

Wouldn't suprise me if the new cam has more power. It has 7.5* less total overlap, so it should be easier to tune.

Its suppose to be a good cam for a turbo/nitrous motor since I plan on sprayin a decent sized shot on top of the boost from the 67mm turbo for now then when I get the 88 spray a large shot out of the hole. Im no cam expert so we will see what happens. It will be hard to compare the two sicne the Lunati was working with 11:1CR and the new cam will be working with 9.5:1.
