good head for 5.3

damn i wana make some power out of the 5.3 cuz im maken it my drag/street truck....which part is to big?

that cam.. if u plan on going on a big cam u need a big converter.. ive seen people run 228 duration cams on 3800-4000 converters.. if u dont plan on going that big on a converter i say u stay with something in the low 22* duration.. ur set up needs to match up.. conveter with cam and have all the other supporting mods.

The bigger cam you go (bigger cam is defined by longer duration more so than the lift). The bigger the cam the less power/torque you have in lower RPM's, which is crucial in our heavy *** trucks. In a 5.3, I'd go no higher than a 22x/22x without a stall, some guys won't put any cam in the 5.3 without a stall. On a 6.0, I'd go high 220's - mid 230's at the most.

The cam you listed would be best suited for a light camero or vette with at least a 402 IMHO

To match a 3500 stall, I'd go with something similar to the TR224. Which when you build it, should be a pretty decent cam for your 6.0 too.

i was thinking that or th 228r frm tsp..when i get the 6.0 (lq9)put an ms3 in it n put the 224-228 in the dd truck n its going lq4 llater too
