Good cam for 6.0 4x4 HD 5sp truck??
#1
Looking to put a cam in my HD,its lifted on 35's,its a 4x4 extended cab 5sp truck and a blast to drive. I want a good cam that helps the truck because i do pull with it some but also a cam that cuts up good for the "COOL" factor LOL
Im into LS stuff already with camaro's so i know about springs ,pushrods and install tech ,just needing some info on what cams are working for the trucks the best, thanks.

Considering the 35's, I personally wouldn't go to big on the cam or you will hate it down low. Gonna be tough to get a cam that fits your criteria and sounds nasty at the same time. If it were me, I'd probably go with the Vinci Trucker or something similar, but nothing bigger than 220/22x IMO. The Trucker's specs are 216/224 .551/.551 115 btw...

I believe that there is a dyno graph of the Trucker in a 6.0 in the GM Engine and Exhaust Performance section, but I don't recall any info about it in a 5.3, except for what was posted above, although I do know that there are members running that cam with good results in both 5.3's and 6.0's. Roger (AKlowriderZ71) runs that cam in his 5.3 with a Maggie, and his truck is a beast for sure
I know that he runs the Crane Gold Quick Lift rockers, but can't recall if he has the 1.7 or 1.8 ratio.
FWIW, the Trucker in a 6.0 had pretty much the same powerband as the Comp 212/218 in a 5.3, but with bigger numbers of course. I know that NickD posted dyno results of the 212/218 in a 5.3 a while ago, and believe that he may have also been the one to post the Trucker/6.0 results...
*EDIT* I almost forgot...Roger Vinci himself runs a trucker in his DD 5.3 paired with a Yank TT2600 (pretty sure it's a 2600...I know for sure that it's one of the Yank TT series), and obviously if you gave him a call he'd have nothing but good things to say about it. He may have dyno results and opinions on matching components such as converter and gears. Just a word of caution though, besides being an extremely smart and knowledgeable guy, Roger is a great salesman IMO, so you might hang up the phone having ordered this cam, springs, rockers, etc
But if you do, I'm sure that you won't be sorry as the Crane/Vinci products are of top quality and definitely deliver the gains they promise
