The TR224 cam is a whole different animal in a 4.8 than in your Firebird.
The lope is nasty, it really depends on what LSA you got it with though.

Thats a very true observation. I didn't even think about the smaller cubes actually causing sum rumble from the cam. LSA would DEF. need to be on a 112 or so...

just for reference; the cam I have in my sig requires a tune. Doesn't like to stay running when coming to a stop. Nice choppy idle though. It's the same as the "trucker" cam but with 114 lsep instead of 115 of the trucker. So you would definately want to go with something smaller.

my 222/224 cam needed a tune as well its gonna get backed with a ssf3500 when i get back in town

U have any vac. issues with that cam? also u have UPD in ur sig. whats that?

no brake issues so far from lack of vac gonna be installing a 224/224 xer cam when i get back in town and pulling the 222/224 shelf cam

not tryin to steal the thread, but do most mail order tunes take care of the "tuning" or does it HAVE to be dyno tuned? Also, what's the biggest cam you can put in the 4.8 and still use stock valvetrain????
