Default friends having a problem after engine build 13.1 comp

friend of my built a 6.0 dumped a lot of money all brand name stuff 13.1 compression on E85/race fuel

his problem is the engine is pushing oil out of the PCV setup, he just has vented to air with a breather on it i have not seen it (his out of state) but says its pouring out

anyone have an idea how or what should be a fix?

What’s the ring gap, how is the crankcase ventilation setup? Stock valve covers? Has he done a leak down test to see if anything is out of place?

i dont know about the ring gaps, ill have to ask him and no leak down test

yeah his using stock valve covers, if i understand him right its all just vented to air with breathers on the ends of the hoses, he installed the breathers after his mechanic told him the crank pressure was blowing the valve cover gaskets out causing oil to leak on the headers

sorry for not having all the info i have not seen this myself, hes not really and hands on guy plus i really dont think his local mechanic is up to par on this type of stuff (small town not a lot of options)

I’m at a healthy 12.5:1 and mine doesn’t do that at all.

My issue is that I pull oil into the intake via the passenger side VC vent.

I swapped out the valley cover for the ls6 version and drilled a hole in the intake and epoxied a fitting there.

He may need larger venting ports.

Well that ring gap isn’t the issue.

im thinking he might just have the 1st gen valve covers and im sure he dont have the LS6 valley cover

im a little confused? if hes need does larger vent post wont that make for more oil out?

by putting the fitting to the intake wont that just route the oil in the combustion chambers and oil down every thing along the way?

If he's using the small fittings on the stock covers to vent it's probably still building crankcase pressure. He may have to go to a race type setup like the Motion Raceworks top loader catch can. The single can vents through two -10 or -12AN hoses fitted to each cover.

yeah i agree with probably needing the vent system to be larger diameter for sure but that i dont think will help with stopping or really slowing down the oil pouring out of the vents what can he do to deal with that?
