Default forget 5.3 internals

Iv been doing a lot of looking and haven’t come up with any forget pistons available for the 5.3l lm7 engines. I know its possible to bore the blocks to ls1 specs and use ls1 pistons (which there are many to choose from) but id like to stick with the 5.3l displacement. Iv began to rip apart the engine that will be going into my datsun and I want to turbo it but those cast pistons scare me. Anyone know any place to get lower compression forged pistons?

I also have a 5.3 that I am going to put in my vw bug. For now I will leave it stock, but I dream to rebuild it and go forced induction someday. I have also looked everywhere for forged 5.3/4.8 bore pistons but I do not beleive they exists. I wish they did, I don't really need more cubic inches.

I know that CurtD has a forged 5.3. I think they discontinued the pistons he has though. Might have to get them specially made.

For a pretty penny...

Why not just bore it and put in some off the shelf pistons?

How much would it cost to bore out to a 3.905 bore?

No he had a 5.3 block still in his truck when I saw it last and to my knowledge hasnt changed it.

Sleek: depends on the shop but to bore and hone the block will run about 200-300 and I would recommend vating the block to clean it up nice and that runs abotu 20-30 basically an acid dip.

370 isnt possible out of a 5.3 block and a stock stroke crank
