FI cam question

I've never had my truck on a dyno, but it made a huge difference. I didn't lose any bottom end, in fact, it pulls harder at all rpm. A supercharged SS Silverado could not keep up! lol.

you have to keep your eyes open for the 01 Z06 cam, some crate motors come with that cam in it.
i have one in my 4.8, when wheatly tuned my truck, the first thing said was that it was a bad *** 5.3 with a supercharger, i had to remind him that it was a 4.8.
i have been waitting for a while now to find another one for my 5.7 build and finaly got one a few days ago.
their is a video from parish on his fairmont with that cam in the turbo 5.3.
he wasn't so sure about it until he seen the numbers on the dyno and got it fine tuned for the track, that fairmont is a killer on the track.

Here is the dyno graph for the cam I used in a 408 with a TVS 1900 on top. Trucks need torque to get the mass moving. I have a great idle sound like you want, very good daily driver, at 226-238, 601-601, 114 LSA. I am confused why people recomend a N/A cam in a blown application. Call a good engine builder that has done a lot of FI for your application. Every build is different depend on heads, values, rockers, compression, exhaust, etc,,, One off the shelf will work but may not best for your application. Don't be afraid to go bigger, you will get your idle and more power depending on your build, but you must consider whether your engine flows enough air to support your cam choice.

Sounds like a lot of power for only 5psi. Im curious to see what kind of 1/4 mile these blowers will turn on boost only. Alot of people use the wrong correction factor on FI engines in Co. Forced induction still takes a hit up at elevation but only uses half the correction factor. If you are making 727HP in Co at 5psi that is massive power. At 12psi my little 6.0L with the T76 @13PSI only made 712HP, but my truck has ran 10's at Bandimere boost only. If you are making more power than that with a TVS 1900 Im really interested.

Stock 48: Thanks for the complement, my builder has worked in Colorado for years so I am sure the correction on the dyno was accurate. He has routinely entered the Engine Masters competition in New York and feels very comfortable correcting for altitude. You are making great power on that 6.0litre, I am sure that my pig of a truck can't keep up. We might bring it to Bandimere this summer, I will PM you if we do, I would like to meet. You obviously dialed in great power with a smaller cam, what kind of ft/tq do you make?

fish maybe you could ask your builder what he would recomend for my truck. I know that the prochargers are different than the maggies as far as what they need in a cam. But I'd be interested to see what he would recomend for an aggressive cam for my setup. But I do like the specs on your cam. You are making some good power with that thing.

Call Brett Bowers at 970-226-6040, Racing Engine Design. I am sure he would be happy to help and can probably drop ship you a custom grind. He really knows his stuff but be ready to give him the info on your build. He is also a dealer for procharger so he is very familiar with what you need and want.

Only dynoed once at 712RWHP but I think I got robbed a little, it shows ~800HP running down the track. That was with the 212 @.050'' .527'', 114* cam. Truck is a daily driver when running, and driven to the track only weight reduction is spair tire, and tail gate sometimes. I hope to have the new 370CI engine finished up tonight. Shoot me a message when you plan to run, and I will head up there. My truck is banned from Bandimere but I might try to sneak in a pass. Hopefully they won't remember me.
