That sounds like it may good deal. Do you think that they could grind one to the same specs as the EPP Blower Cam, which is a comp cam? Would I need more specs to get the same exact cam? Here is the link:

I think this is the cam that I want to go with. Seems like it makes good power and sounds good too.

If you put that cam in a 5000 lb truck with an auto tranny, you're going to be really disappointed with everything but the idle. That's a big cam for even a light vehicle with gears and a manual tranny. Find you a smaller wide LSA blower cam that will have a good bottom end....then let the hair drier pump up the top end.

That cam your looking at is way to big for your truck IMO. It would work, but you will be very upset with the way it performs. Your low end will be shot, and your powerband will go all the way to 7000+ if you want to push that 5.3 7k+ be my guest but I wouldnt reccomend it.
Something like the VHP Trucker cam is a GREAT cam for a blower app. or n/a
The TR blower cam is also a very nice cam. Something south of the 230 duration mark I would suggest.

Ok so you guys think its too big, thats what I have been asking and you guys are the first ones to comment on it.

These are the specs on the VHP Trucker:
DUR @ .004" 278*/ 286* DUR @ .050" 216*/ 224** LIFT .551/.551 LSA 115*

If I had a custom cam ground to these specs would it preform as well as the one from vinci? Also, I read that a guy on ls1truck.com picked up 60hp when he installed this cam. He was N/A, but do you think this cam would have similar gains on my setup?

I do have a 3200 stall so what ever cam I choose wouldn't need to be great real low because I am flashing past everything below 3200. Do you guys have any other suggestions? Sorry I sound like such a noob, I just don't want to end up wasting my money a cam that doesn't fit my needs.

If you want to reinvent the wheel, by all means, grab you a big ole cam and see how it works. I can tell you that an LS6 cam is very boost friendly in a heavy truck. I've gone bigger and regretted it. It's your time and money. Install a big 'un and let us know how you like it.

What are you talking about? You are talking like I am rejecting your suggestions, but I am not. I want a good boost cam with choppy idle. I don't know a lot about cams so I ask you guys, but I get attitude from you. Never have I said I am going to go with a "big 'un". I don't understand why you are stuck on telling me all about the big cams that didn't work for you. This is the third post in this thread that you have talked about your bad luck with large cams. Why don't you save yourself some key strokes and just recommend some cams that would meet your standards and have have a nice idle.

very well put rockerjoe, i am having the same questions about my 5.3 turbo build in my truck. I emailed thunder racing and they said either the old man trucker cam or their blower cam. I have also heard that VHP cam is great for what were doing. Also the guys from speed inc. recommended a 212/218.

Thanks, it looks like we have the same questions. I'll look into those cams, have any idea how they sound?

This is second-hand knowledge from a SS owner, he runs the 2001 Z06 cam (not the 2002 Z06 cam as the valve events were changed); proven cam puts his heavy *** truck down in the 11.2's with overspun Vortech V2-S. That is with factory 317 heads, if you are going ported or aftermarket or L92 heads this probably won't be a workable choice. G/L on your shopping, centrifugal motors breathe very different and good cam guys that really know what they are doing hold their cards pretty close to the chest.
