Default dual exhaust+wideband(s)= ???

what are you guys that are running true dual exhaust, including ones with an xpipe or other crossover pipe, doing for a wideband? are you running a dual wideband setup, or just monitoring one bank? i wouldnt think you would trust that one bank is the exact same afr as the other.

i dont see many trucks running dual widebands, why? ive seen a few fbodies that have dual widebands, one turbo TA with the gauges in the ac vents comes to mind.

same question for the pyrometer sensor, i know not many are running one but i will have a pod hole to fill and this is the only other useful gauge i can use in the same series.

i was thinking the pyrometer sensor might could be put in the center of the x-pipe, because i dont have room or the need for dual pyrometers.

is there an averaging module im not aware of that can average the two widebands and/or egt sensors and input to the gauge on a millisecond basis
btw, i WILL be getting dual exhaust, dont try to persuade me otherwise.

if you have an X pipe you could put the wideband in the x pipe

I have dual exhaust and went with bank 2(passenger side). You cant tune just one side of your motor or injectors. So what good is the 2nd wideband going to do for you but tell you your .01 off or something? If its a big diff you already know by the DROP in power or SMOKE or wont run.

I have a single exhaust and I my wideband is in place of the rear O2 on bank 2. So effectively I am only tuning from one side. Otherwise I would have had to add a bung in somewhere after the y-pipe. I didn't see any reason to go to that trouble, it works fine where it is.

mine is on the driver's side. You only need one sensor, placed like truckman said. No worries.

Quick Q, not intended to hijack:

I have only run portable Widebands for tuning (on the dyno or on my front seat etc.) that were after the cats. I purchased a LC-1 now and just installed the sensor in place of one of my rear O2's (drivers side) since they are just there for plugging the hole (codes deleted). Am I getting an accurate reading? Should I be pre-cat nearest the headder collector for optimum accuracy?

I have a full custom dual 3" exhaust with cats, X pipe and ASM headders.

Apology for the "kinid of" hijack however I feel it is relivant.

no prob on the hijack

i beleive the closer they are to the header collector the better.

i guess i will just run one sensor then. i forgot that each bank cannot be tuned individually with the stock pcm. i think ill run the wideband in one collector and the pyrometer in the other collector

I put my PLX sensor on the drivers side because of the lean number 7 cylinder problem to make sure that bank was rich enough when setting the WOT AFR numbers.
