Does this need to be bored?
#2
I had a little surface rust on mine, and used a little oil and scotch-brite pad and was able to get it off. (thanks for the recommendation guys) That was one cylinder and it took a little elbow grease to do! If all your cylinders look the same I wouldn't think twice about at least a light hone.

x2 especially since it was sitting, another engine of mine had a gasket leaking into one cylinder, and it pitted the sidewall enough for a bore.

I took to one shop and they didnt even mic it or anything let alone look at it just he said that they dont hone 6.0 block because the bore is really 4.002 not 4.000 if they hone the cylinder sleeve would be to get to hot and wouldnt come out right. Well im going to take it to another shop today for another opinion.

Whats he talkin about the sleeve getting to hot? Unless I'm mistaken and the the iron cylinder is called a sleeve (not heard anything like that) as well. And as new as I am to this, I have never heard of a hone causing too much heat. That may be why a torque plate is nesseccary for the final hone on these blocks.
