Default dod timing gear

I did a dod delete on a 2005 gmc denali .it all ready had a 3 bolt cam in it .So i just put an 2000 5.3 cam in it .my ? is it had a gen 3 top timing gear in it . I always change the top gear to a 4x gear in my dod swap .But i didnt on this one .SUV run fine just throws a cam sensor code .i know the dealership had did a timing chain in it before i wonder it they put wrong gear before. thoughts?

In 05 it should be a gen 3 with cam sensor in the rear reading off the cam itself so cam gear wouldn't matter.
