it is not necesarrily the crank that is the thing that is moving. It is the belt not running true on the serpentine system. I brought a 1" ingersoll rand impact gun home from work. Should be good for around 800 ft. lbs. My air compressor may not have the psi to properly power it, but i could not move the bolt very much either way. still very confused about what i should do next. Just installed this tr220, and wanna make the most out of it, rather than belt slipping.

Cory is your hose big enough to run the impact that big? It does take a good air compressor to run that big of gun. With that said it sound like your going to have to get the bolt out so you can see what's going on. It suck to say but I think your threads are pulled. Did you put any grease or oil on the threads?

You could press the crank pulley on if you could get the bolt out then fix it like i suggested

[QUOTE=coryhussey;4603715]it is not necessarily the crank that is the thing that is moving. It is the belt not running true on the serpentine system.

I know but the balancer is not all the way installed. If you do manage to get it on you will have problems with it staying put with out the bolt if the threads are pulled and you can't torque it to spec.

i believe the hose is 1/2" airline. I use the same amount of psi and air line size at my work to torque large clamps to their maximum torque. My compressor does kick on after about 10 seconds of use of the gun. It does start at 120psi, and drops to 100 psi when it kicks on.

i was hoping to get the bolt out at least. I figured the threads on the bolt would be stretched more than the threads on the crank. I do have a tap on hand in case i do get it out, to re-tap if nccessary.

does this mean i am s#%* out of luck. it seems like aaaalloott of work to get this bolt out. Should of never even bothering swapping the z06 cam out, it doesnt feel much faster with the tr220 cam.

You should notice a considerable difference between the Z06 and TR220, once the tuning is spot on. Where are you at with it now, is the bolt still stuck in the crank? You might need to pry under the head of the bolt while removing it to get it to catch and come out, then try retapping the crank...Corey started a thread in the tool and fab section referencing the proper tap needed.
