The Vette has a larger displacement engine with a higher compression ratio. That's the primary reason for the power difference, not the cam, unfortunately.

Thae LS6 cam is about perfect, but too wide of an LSA.............

As well as a better air intake, exhaust, cylinder heads, intake manifold, and factory premium fuel programming.

if all you were looking for was a little bit more power above the programmer sell it and try a custom tune... they're better and might get you to where you want the truck to be without the internal mods just yet.. over time it will always be to slow

Default 270 hp

1999 (LM7) 5.3 Vortec,, a whole whopping 270 freaking HP stock. no wonder i wanted to to give it some help. Thats the weakest of the 5.3 motors that they manufactured. Definitely getting a cam, heads , Tune . Found a buyer for the hyper programmer. Ls6 cam, 80mm throttle, headers, ls6 intake and oh yes it's going to get a custom tune. a friend of mine has a drive on dyno... once i have completed this makeover i will post the numbers i acheive.

Cool, good luck. Make sure to check your injector duty cycle when you get it that far.

The Cam is out of a Vette, I have 2 to choose from. I have an LS3 cam from a
2006 GTO.. or the Ls6 cam from 04 vette..

Which would make my truck rock?
