Default Comp XER vs. EPS Truck Torque?

Anybody have any personal experience or hard data? A while back the Comp XER was where it was at, and they're still great lobes, but even Comp themselves have released updated lobes since the release of the now proven XER (think LSR). EPS lobes are designed by Geoff who designed the famous Thunder Racing lobes, and folks have already given his grinds positive reports. Curious how a Comp XER 224/230 .581/.588 114 would fend against the EPS 224/230 .609/.607 111 in a 6.0...the difference in lsa should be noticeable I would think, probably wouldn't notice the slight lift difference, but I wonder about lobe design. I remember someone posting that the EPS lobes are supposed to be kind to valve springs, even with their big lift numbers...yet produce great hp/tq numbers.

Well the XER lobes are STILL the most aggressive lobes that Comp Cams has available. Their newer lobes are nice performers too though just a little nicer on the valvetrain.

LIL INFO FROM EPS WEBPAGE
EPS Cam Lobes are different. Most other ‘catalog’ lobes are based off of designs that are at least 10 years old. EPS Lobes are a modern design, that takes full advantage of all of the latest lobe design techniques that weren’t available 10 years ago. Most ‘catalog’ lobes, that other vendors use, have quick acceleration characteristics, but coupled with that, they also have poor jerk characteristics. Jerk is the rate of change of acceleration. In simple terms, while these other lobe designs accelerate quickly, they don’t do it in a smooth or controlled manner. EPS Lobes are able to accelerate at a rate that is comparable to or faster than most other ‘catalog’ lobes, but maintain excellent jerk characteristics. This means smooth acceleration, which translates into less stress on valvetrain components, less spring pressure needed for control, and reduced noise.

More Power:

More power with better street manners, reduced stress on valvetrain components, plus reduced noise underhood. The Endurance lobes from Engine Power Systems offer the enthusiast many, many advantages over ‘catalog’ lobes

Well, its not like any cam maker is going to be like, "Our lobes work OK. They're not the greatest, not the worst, but OK. But buy our cam anyway. Thanks."

I am definately going with an EPS cam once taxes come back. I talked to Geoff on the phone and the time he took to answer my questions got my buisness. As far as I am concerned the fact that his cams are the best around is just a bonus
