Are Cometic head gaskets reuseable? Another board member said he thought they were but wasmt sure. Im having to pull the heads to swap out the lifters and dont want to throw these in the trash if they are safe to reuse. They have been on the truck for a week and have less than 100 miles on them.

 

I've read that several times on here and on LS1Tech.com Just google "cosmetic gasket" and call someone who sells them.

 

All i have heard is that you can re TQ them if they are not heat cycled. I have never heard that they are reusable.

Cometic says they are NOT reuseable, but many people have had success reusing them many times with the copper spray.

 

light coat of copper spray and reuse them....or search on tech and see where tons of people reuse them up to 3 times.

 

Is it worth dickin' around more than once with head gaskets when they leak? I doubt it. How far as your pistons out of the hole? What's your quench at?

 

Thats like asking if you can reuse a rubber. Can you, yes.....would you NO.
