Default Which Color Oil Pump O-Ring - '01 ECSB 5.3L

I'm compiling a list of parts I need for my cam/spring/lifter swap. There are two oil pump o-rings, a blue/green and a red one. There is conflicting information online about which one I need.

#12557752 - Green
#12584922 - Red

Speed Engineering suggests I need the red one. Anyone?

Thanks!

I have always used a true blue one....it's nice and thick. I do not have a part number though, sorry man. I have also used the red one before the true blue came out in case that helps.

The red one is what you need. Unless you bought the Lingenfelter high pressure pump, they include a black or a blueish-green one. In that case, you use the blueish-green one.

When I tore down my motor, I found the blue/green one (car type) in it from factory. I was advised go red because it was for trucks, and have had no issues whatsoever. Go red.

BTW, the red one is thicker, not the blue/green one.

Red, the blue-green one is not thick enough. Many guys have found this out the hard way, I've read multiple threads about it...
