Like TXsilverado keep saying, lift has very little to do with PTV clearance. Duration is what you want to worry about. And no, I don't see you having any problems with that cam you mentioned. But the only way to know is to measure it. Its like everyone who asks what pushrod length is right for them. No one in the world is going to be able to give you a correct answer. They can guess and hope to be right but the only way to know for sure is to measure.

Gamble, are you saying a .600 lift cam will fit without any VTP probs ?
is there valve reliefs on newer gen-4 5.3 pistons ? it's a LH9 motor,
not much is known about them.
VVT will still limit cam options dramatically. The point of VVT is to allow the the valves to stay open later increasing efficiency. Now if you consider the point of an aftermarket cam is to improve valve events. This includes opening longer and wider. Basically a properly speced cam will eliminate the need for VVT anyways. Consider the following; the only difference really of matter between a LY5 and LH9 is the iron vs aluminum block. The rest of the stuff isn't of matter for cam selection. XFI lobes should be fine in a flat top piston and 243. Max lift as mentioned by other won't be the only factor.

On the stall factor, unless you are towing more than 6,000lbs on a regular basis a 3200 stall will be fine as long as you have a good trans cooler.

cruising at 70mph i only turn 2000rpm. I thought there was
more diff than that. heads, pistons and cam. the LH9 is rated higher.

a 5.3 is a 5.3. you're not going to make more power with 1 5.3 over another 5.3 with the same supporting mods and tune (in a perfect world)

Same heads(243/799), same flat top pistons, cam differences would be super minor.
