Checking the health of an engine
#12
I thought I was losing oil from the rear main seal or oil pan gasket as my engine looked similar. But it turned out to be the oil pressure sending unit. Reach behind the intake manifold on the drivers side. If there is oil behind the pressure sensor you have your answer. Much easier to change than an oil pan gasket!

Thanks I will look at that.
I thought changing the oil pan gasket would be that bad. But after looking at a few Escalade forums with 6.2's in looks like I need to drop the front diff to get the pan off.

just change oil every 3,000 and use 1 qt AFT to clean the carbon from the rings will help, most people will remove the diff to change the pan gasket but still only maybe extra 1/2 hour to remove. Or install new pistons and rings-your choice.

I haven't done anything yet I'm just keeping an eye on the oil level. I'm going to remove the pan and change the gasket. While I got the diff dropped I'm going to go ahead and put a drop diff on since I'm leveled 2.5" in the front and go up another .5" to 1".
