Default 6.0 LQ4 D1 Procharger ?

Just got a 6.0 LQ4 and a 4l80 planning on going with a D1 Procharger for my 06 Silverado 2wd single cab. What would be a good cam, heads, stall, gears for my set up? Thinking of getting some 243 heads should I keep them stock or port them? What else can I do to the engine before I get it in?

Can't really help much without a goal and budget. Street racer? Track car? Cruiser?

The stall and gear selection should be somewhat based around that too.

An early LQ4 will only hold 500-550hp before you need to worry about snapping a connecting rod, so keep that in mind. A later LQ4 will handle 800+HP without a problem.

Just some options though, LJMS stage 2 cam works great with boost, as does the ISky Triple 12 cam. Stock 317 work awesome, mill them if you want more compression otherwise they work as is.

Minimum of 60-70lb/hr injectors for boost on pump gas.

My goal is a 11-12 sec truck is not my daily driver .I got the engine from a 04 Denali 4x4 6.0 with 317 heads . So 317 are better then 243 for boost? More as a street racer set up and budget just want to do the engine first like cam heads a better oil pump spring rods and gaskets to get it in. And just a good stall and axel gears to have a good set up for the D1.

Yes and no. The 2 flow close to the same, I think 317s edge out 243s on the bigger bore motors.

The 243s bump compression, which makes more power but is harder on the motor and harder to tune, and more finiky. Chances of a bad tank of gas shredding the motor go up too.

Personally, I've seen 317s with a valve job and a bowl cut make 1100hp on a **** load of boost. That made me a believer in them.

I would run the 317s and repulley if you wanted more power

Just read all 24 pages looks like he's going with a stronger setup.

Have you ever looked at my first thread in the projects section? I have a 2wd 2006 truck and pretty much started exactly the way you are but with a 5.3 LM7.

You search for all threads started by Blown06 there are a ton of threads that documented my trials. The first major milestone for me was running 10.90's at 4550 lbs with an out of the box D1sc kit using the stock 6 rib ****, stock tensioner, stock diameter balancer and a 4" blower pulley. This was also done with a single 255 intank pump and factory returnless fuel system.

Then 10.40's with the upgrade to an 8 rib setup, bigger fuel system.

My truck eventually evolved into a track only setup. Still rocking the procharger though.

Like vortec350ss said above, Kurts truck (also a 2wd shortbed single cab) has run in the 10.40's as well I think around 4100 lbs with the House of Boost dedicated drive set up. You can check out some threads he has started as well.

Your truck should run 12's without any issue at all. Bottom 11's will take some work, but still should not be too much of an issue. Best advise I can give you is "blueprint" your blower drive set up, lots of gear and lots of converter.
