Default Changing cams

I have the Asa cam from gmpp, the specs are 226/236 .525/ .525 on a 110 lsa. I like the manners of the cam but what if it had more lift like around .580 with a 112 lsa. Would it be beneficial to get a cam Spec'd like the Asa cam with more lift and a 112 lsa? It will be going in my 00 rcsb 370 with rhs 225 heads probably swap to the tbss intake with a 92mm tb backed by a 4l80e hd2 kit with a circle d 3200 stall, tru trac with 4.10 gears. Thanks for the input.

It would probably work good, widening the LSA will make the powerband a little wider but lower the peak numbers, but going up on the lift on those heads should give it right back. It will definitely be more drivable and have better low end.

you could get some used 1.8-1.85 roller rockers, but then again they will probably cost as much or more than the cam itself lol

I'm still debating if I'm gonna keep it or sell it and save for what I really want, 66-67 Nova. Thought about the rockers but probably isn't worth the time when the cam is the same price.

Swap the cams that ASA cam is well known for underperforming and for vacuum issues. That 370 will love more lift and a bigger split duration. Especially to take advantage of those heads. I would suggest a 231/234 .608/.611 LSA111, but something more mild 226/230 .581/.581 LSA112.

The 228r is a common and popular cam. However, I am not a fan of it myself. I think it is too small for your build. I also really like split duration cams in NA builds like yours. More duration, more lift, and more aggression for a larger than stock motor. If you get a proper set of heads then an even bigger cam would be good.

Yeah I will definitely get one spec for my application. The first one you mentioned sounds of something I might be interested in.

I would keep the 110 lsa but run something around .570'' lift and a little less exh duration unless planning on N20 down the road.
