Default Cant decided on a CamShaft!!!!!!

As of now i have just the basics intake and exhaust on a 5.3... but with the upcoming tax returns here i am modding some more... i have some heads they are 862's shaved .0300 with manlee valves blue springs and z06 rockers and retainers. i am looking for a nice cam with a small lope to it. what would be my best choice as far as cams go ,ive been doing research but i feel the members on here are more of an influence than studing. i will aslo be getting a wheatley , black bear or nelson tune. i also have a nitrous kit but not sure if i want to hook it up till i upgrade my tranny... help me OUTTTTTTTTTTT plz... and thanks

Comp cams 212-218 low lift has a small lope on a 5.3 and works great with nos.
(XR265HR). It also doesn't require a stall.

Are you talking about the blue stripe ls6 springs? I may be wrong and if I am some one correct me but I think those are just for around a .525 lift.

It would not need a stall. A lot of people seem to like it in a 5.3. Doesn't affect fuel mileage or the way it drives and adds about 30 hp. I would use the yellow springs though, they are only around $50 from lingenfelter. Some use stock push rods with these springs but your heads are milled .0300

i've got a similar setup (stock 5.3, intake, exhaust, tune) and a guy at thunder racing recommended the CheaTR 214/230 601/575 117*. said it makes power off idle to about 6800 & is great with stock exhaust manifolds.

i don't know much about drivability or economy with it, though

I was looking at this cam as well for a friend looking for a sleeper cam. Thats a high rev thats for sure. I wonder if anyone has tried this cam in a 5.3

Im going to Do a 220-224 cam in my 00' 5.3.

Was Told that with that cam, tune/ CAI and corsa exhaust Dyno was 309 at the wheels compared to 240 stock, Not bad IMO.

Dont know how it lopes yet though, My Comp 212 218 in my old 04' loped nice when i bumped the idle down a lil.
