You should be fine with the 4.8 as a replacement. I have seen that same video, and it is crazy that a little 4.8 can run like that in an F-body. Do headers, intake, a good sized cam, pulleys, and a tune. You'd be surprised what a 4.8 can do in a lighter vehicle...
