would i need to do anyhthing to the heads to fit the ls6 or the crane springs? the more expensive springs that crane recommends for this cam are 1.370 OD and the GM ones are 1.290

can you post the part# for the cam and springs?
i can't seem to find where crane recommends a spring w/ that OD for a 216/224 .551/.551 cam.
here is the part#144832 for the springs that i could find that crane recommended for that size cam.

i got the number from an article on Cranes website http://www.cranecams.com/?show=newsLetters&no=276 (package number 3 in the article) they recommend 144833 which is 1.237 OD 144832 is 1.264 OD but has the same spring pressure
so I guess these are a smaller diameter than what you found recommened

anyone know what stock 317 heads valvespring OD is? and the biggest OD that will fit on the stock head without modification?
